By eliminating the need for manual handling, deburring, and finishing of parts up to 12 inches in diameter, MAG Series deburring machines from McNeil Industries help producers of powdered metal, sintered metal, and many stamped or fineblanked parts to increase yield and quality and reduce production costs. All MAG Series deburring machines are equipped with a magnetic conveying system that automatically receives parts from powder metal or stamping presses and then holds the parts for automated top-sided or bottom-sided deburring. Deburring is accomplished using brushes whose size, shape, grit, and firmness are carefully matched to customer part requirements. The Auto Amp Compensation System, a feature exclusive to McNeil deburring equipment, monitors brush pressure and wear to ensure a uniform part finish throughout the life of the brushing media The smallest in the MAG Series, the portable MAG Model 1, employs a compact conveyor and a single brush to deburr parts up to six inches in diameter. Larger, floor-mounted machines, including the MAG Model 2, Model 4, Model 6, and Model 8, employ wider conveyors and multiple deburring brushes per side. They can handle parts up to 10 lbs in weight and 12 inches in diameter. For deburring of green powder metal and other "soft" parts, MAG Series machines can be equipped with a high-efficiency dust collection system or adapted to an existing plant-based system. To cope with higher temperatures associated with deburring of harder parts, including sintered metals, floor-mounted MAG Series machines can be equipped with a sump-based liquid cooling system. For special requirements, a range of optional equipment can be integrated to meet special requirements: 1) Auxiliary stations, mounted at the head of the machine, can finish or deburr edges, counterbores, or unusual part features before the main deburring operation takes place. 2) A part de-magnetizing unit, mounted at the end of the machine can remove magnetism induced by the conveyor. 3) Part washing, drying, and collection equipment, mounted at the end of the machine, can deliver finished parts ready for installation on the plant floor, or for packaging and shipment to other locations. All MAG Series functions are PLC controlled, with machine functions and part profiles programmed to order and selectable from an electronic menu. Users may specify any of a wide range of PLC models to ensure compatibility with existing plant systems and equipment. McNeil Industries manufactures specialty products, systems, and services recognized for on-time delivery and superior performance. The company's OLS deburring machines automate secondary operations and help manufacturers reduce costs while improving the throughput and quality of cast, machined, stamped, and powder-metal components. The company also designs and delivers MAXAM® Bearings used in steel making and heavy industry, Guide System pins and bushings used by the global can-making industry, and a range of precision machining, industrial sealing, and value-added services used by customers worldwide. |
